Manchester residents point with pride to the fact that the area is “close to everything”, yet many people find they never have to leave home to pursue their favorite activities. In fact Manchester has recently been ranked among the top cities by a number of different magazines. The Manchester metro area was selected as one of America’s “Best Places to Live and Work” and rated as a “Four-Star Community” by Expansion Management in May of 2003. But this is nothing new to the residents of Manchester. Major Attractions/Recreation
For the outdoor enthusiast, Manchester boasts 900 acres of parks, playgrounds and public spaces. The city has numerous golf courses and even kayaking on the Merrimack River. Manchester is also home to a number of sports teams including double-A baseball, AHL hockey and AF2 arena football. The Verizon Wireless Arena and the Fisher Cat Baseball Stadium are all part of the downtown development project consisting of the new ballpark, the hotel, and luxury condominiums. Other attractions include the Currier Gallery of Art, Palace Theatre and NH Institute of Art. |
